D-Ville Volleyball Travels to Brown City Tourney

The Deckerville Lady Eagles traveled to Brown City over the weekend for a volleyball tournament to face off with Yale, Brown City, Bad Axe, Warren Woods, Bay City Central and Cros-Lex.
The Eagles lost their first two sets to Yale: 25-8 and 25-18. Deckerville faced off against the host school next, falling to Brown City in two sets: 25-18 and 25-14. Deckerville dropped two sets with Bad Axe 25-20 and 25-14. Deckerville dropped both sets with Warren Woods: 25-22 and 25-13. The Lady Eagles started to hit their stride in their fifth matchup of the day, taking on Bay City Central and winning in three sets: 25-23, 19-25, and 15-13. Deckerville’s final opponenet of the tournament was Cros-Lex and the Lady Eagles fell in two sets: 11-25 and 12-25.
Johanna Kubacki had an impressive performance with 9 kills, 3 aces, 6 assists, and 47 digs. Emma Salowitz also contributed with 2 kills, 7 aces, and an impressive 69 digs. Mya Garza showcased her skills with 1 kill, 3 aces, 46 assists, and 18 digs. Emma Roberts was a force to be reckoned with, recording 18 kills and 4 blocks. Cassandra played a vital role with 4 aces and 40 digs, while Brooke Barker added 5 aces and 21 digs to the team’s success. Danica Oldenburg demonstrated her prowess with 7 kills and 3 blocks, Alyssa Rudgers contributed with 9 kills and 1 block, and Libby Tank added 7 kills and 1 block. Lastly, Maryanne Sanford made her presence felt with 2 blocks and 1 kill.
