The CPS Tigers took on North Huron last week in a league matchup. The Tigers have had a tough start to the season thus far, but finally started hitting their stride against the North Huron squad. The Tigers hung close in this one, eventually succumbing to the Warriors 44-30.
Leading the way for the Tigers offense was Colton Sharpe, who rushed for 74 yards and 3 touchdowns on 17 carries. Alex Scheuneman had 10 carries for 44 yards and Tyler Bartley had 6 carries for 39 yards. Colton Sharpe completed two passes for 40 yards and gave up two interceptions. Tyler Bartley caught both completions from Sharpe for 40 yards. Isaiah Johnson was the leading tackler for the Tigers defense, earning 10 solo tackles in the contest. Tyler Bartley came up with seven tackles in the contest as well as an interception that he ran back for the defensive touchdown. Alex Scheuneman and Owen Poirier each earned 5 tackles in the contest. Lucas Childers rounded out the defensive effort for the Tigers with 4 tackles. The Tigers slide to 0-4 on the season (0-3 NCTL Stripes) but had their best showing of the season and are finally starting to come into their own. The Tigers hope to spring out of their slump when they take on New Haven Merritt Academy next friday afternoon.
