Marlette Drops Close Game to Brown City

The Marlette Red Raiders Varsity Boys traveled to Brown City last Wednesday to take on the Green Devils in a GTC matchup. Brown City came out firing on all cylinders, outscoring the Raiders 30-23 in the first half. The Raiders fought their way back in the second half, cutting the deficit to just three points to start the fourth quarter. Brown City stepped up their defense in the fourth to hold the Marlette squad to their lowest quarter total of the game, and the Green Devils took the win 51-43. Marlette slid to 4-6 overall (1-1) with the loss to Brown City.
The Red Raiders were led by Quintin Sartin’s sixteen points, eleven rebounds and two assists. Dom Crossno added seven points and a steal. Trey Lester chipped in five points and a steal. Aaron Bower finished the game with five points, two assists, three rebounds and two steals and Tyler Izydorek also notched five and a steal in the game. Julius Johnson added four points, three assists, four rebounds and a steal. Luke Thomas finished the game with a free throw and two assists.
