Deckerville Elementary Update

Elementary Principal
Office Notes: Please make sure that your child brings in a note at the beginning of the day, when transportation arrangements need to be changed. If you need to call the office to change transportation arrangements, your call must be received before 2:00 p.m. to guarantee your request can be processed.
Attendance: It is very important for your child/children to be in school. Please notify the elementary office if your child is sick and will not be attending that day. If the office does not get a call from the parents the student’s absence is marked unexcused. We appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Homework Policy: Students receive homework to practice skills that are taught throughout the day. It is important to practice these skills in order for the skills to become second nature to students. Please help your child with this task, by setting a designated time and space to complete these tasks. This support will lead to academic success for your child/children. Thank you.
World Hunger Penny Drive sponsored by Pizza Hut. During the week of October 19-23 students were asked to bring pennies or any other denominations to help “Feed the Hungry” children of the World. Each classroom had a jar or container to collect money. At the end of the week our total donations were $1,077!! Ms. Cowley’s 2nd grade class, won the pizza party, with a high donation of $159. Thank you for supporting and helping our students understand the concept of helping others in need.
