Heritage Festival Saturday in Deckerville

The Deckerville Downtown Development Corp. (DCDC) will host the annual Heritage Festival this Saturday, in the Village of Deckerville, with events going on all day long and even into the evening.
A Bike Tour will take place from 10:00 a.m. – noon, with three rides, 1 mile (for kids), 27.7 miles and 38.5 miles, going along the Lake Huron shoreline, stopping at a scenic turnout and then inland, traveling by woods, farmland and windmills.
Each registered rider will receive a swag bag (including a T-shirt). Check-in starts at 8:30 a.m., at the Deckerville Community Center. A completed waiver and release of liability is required. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Helmets are required and State of Michigan bicycle safety must be complied.
Starting at 10:00 a.m.:
An Alumni Baseball game will start at 10:00 a.m., followed by softball (11:30 a.m.), at the school ball fields.
An Antique Tractor Show will be held at Wayne’s Auto & Tire, with a parade at 3:30 p.m.
The Deckerville Historical Museum will feature demonstrations and games.
Kids Games will be held at Eastern Michigan Bank, starting at 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Also, a Prayer Tent, Farmers Market, Food Trucks and a Street Fair
From 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.:
Axe Throwing/Log Rolling/Bale Stacking/Axe-Stack-Roll Competition – At Woodland Ag
Sidewalk Art Contest – 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., at Thumb Bank & rust
Couch Potato Race – 1:00 p.m., starting at Bloomin’ Crazy Flowers & More
Dinner/Music/Comedy Show – 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., tickets may be purchased at www.dcdcev.com. It will feature, native from Deckerville, Sherry Hoenicke, and Sheila Flanagan, and Melissa Hager from Frankenmuth, and live music by locals, Tamed Aggression – at Wilson Park. Corner Cafe will be catering the meal. Cost is $75 for an individual or $125 per couple.
Parking will be available at Deckerville United Methodist Church, Deckerville Community Center and the former Dott Manufacturing. Handicap parking will be at the northeast corner of the traffic light.
Shuttle buses will run from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., provided by Midnight Madness.
