Carsonville-Port Sanilac announces Class of 2018 Scholars

Carsonville – Port Sanilac Schools is proud to announce the Class of 2018 Senior Scholars.
Daelyn Albrecht-Wolschleger, daughter of Bernie and Carolyn Wolschleger, has been named a Senior Scholar of the Class of 2018. Daelyn is President of National Honor Society and was the co- captain of the English Academic team. She received a Silver Rating (3rd place) in the Agricultural Issues District Leadership Contest in 2018, and a Gold Rating (1st place) in Agricultural Issues Regional Contest in 2018. Daelyn also received a Silver Rating in Prepared Public Speaking, a Bronze in AG Marketing in Career Development Events, a Silver in Diversified Horticulture Placement, and an Outstanding Student Award. Daelyn has received class awards in English, Math, Science and History. She has been on the Honor Roll all four years, received an award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement (maintaining a GPA of 3.5-4.0), and Perfect and Outstanding Attendance.
Daelyn is also very active in extra-curricular activities as well. She is the co-captain of the varsity softball team, played volleyball 2 years, ran track 1 year and is the President of International Thespian Society Troupe 2173. She performed 8 productions in Theatre 13 at CPS and 3 productions in Port Sanilac’s Barn Theatre. She is also actively involved with the Ava Maria Parish youth group.
Daelyn plans to attend Saginaw Valley State University this Fall, then transfer to Michigan State University to pursue a career in Agriculture.
Alexandra Herrington, daughter of Louis Herrington III and Michelle Herrington, has been named a Senior Scholar of the Class of 2018. Alexandra has been a member of the Science Academic Team, National Honor Society, for which she is the current Treasurer. She has been a member of the CPS Marching Band and Concert Band all 4 years, participating in Solo & Ensemble every year. She was selected to perform in the Sanilac County Honor Band her Junior and Senior year, Albion Honor Band her Senior year and U of M – Flint Honor Band her Sophomore, Junior and Senior years. Alexandra has received class awards in Math, Science, and History. She has been on the Honor Roll all four years, received an award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement (maintaining a GPA of 3.5-4.0), and Outstanding Attendance. She has been a showman of Sanilac County’s 4-H program with the llama and alpaca group and also showed dog and cat.
Alexandra plans to attend U of M – Flint this Fall to pursue a bachelors degree in Biology and pursue her career in Zoology.
Lillian Lentz, daughter of Jeffrey Lentz and Lori Lentz, has been named a Senior Scholar of the Class of 2018. Lillian has been on the Honor Roll the last four years, and received an award for Outstanding Scholastic Achievement (maintaining a GPA of 3.5-4.0). She is a member of the National Honor Society and has been a member of Sanilac County’s 4-H program. Lillian has been on the CPS Volleyball team all 4
