Sheriff Paul Rich awarded a Commendation for Life Saving to Deputy Todd Laming of the Uniform Services Division.
On Sunday, February 21, at approximately 3:25 p.m., Deputy Laming was dispatched to a Medical/Overdose call in the 2400 block of Black River Street in the Village of Deckerville. The original 9-1-1 call reported a 25-year-old male was not conscious and not breathing. Deputy Laming responded to the scene, witnessed CPR in progress, and assessed the victim who had a faint pulse and shallow breathing. Deputy Laming was able to administer two doses of Narcan, and within minutes, the victim was stabilized. Sheriff Paul Rich states, “Had it not been for the original caller and the quick response and assessment of the victim by Deputy Laming, the outcome may have been very different. Our Office is extremely proud of Deputy Laming.”
