Last week’s question: Countdown to spring: What day is the first day of spring, and what is special about that date? ANSWER: March 19th was the first day of Spring this year. The first day of Spring always fall on the Vernal Equinox (the first day of equal daytime and night time). The other major seasonal dates are the Autumnal Equinox (equal day and night during the fall), and the Winter and Summer Solstices (shortest and longest days of the year respectively).
