The Deckerville Eagles lost in an overtime thriller against Peck last week, 57-62.
In the first quarter, the Eagles scored 11 points – Brady Sharbowski, 5, Derek Osborne 4 and Hunter Garza, 2. The Peck Pirates had 12 points – Dalton Sempf with two 3-pointers and a basket and Cal Heiden a 3-pointer and a free shot. The Eagles outscored Peck 16-10 in the second quarter for a 27-22 lead. Deckerville’s Logan Martin had two 3-pointers, David Shanks 6 points, Brady Sharbowski and Connor Palmer 2 apiece. For Peck, Dalton Sempf 8 points (one 3-pointer) and Stephen VanConant, 2. In the third quarter, the Pirates outscored the Eagles by 9, 19-10. Connor Palmer and Brady Sharbowski both had 4 points and Logan Martin, 2, for Deckerville. Peck’s Brady Babcock scored 11 points (one 3-pointer), and Cal Heiden, Carsten Lieblang, Dalton Sempf and Stephen VanConant 2 each. In the fourth quarter, the Eagles scored 17 and Peck, 13 tieing the game. Derek Osborne scored 7 of the 17, Logan Martin and Hunter Garza each had a 3-pointer, and Connor Palmer and David Shanks, 2 each. For the Pirates, Stephen VanConanat 4, Cal Heiden and Carsten Lieblang each with a 3-pointer and Dalton Sempf, 3 from the free throw line. Peck scored 6 points in the overtime – all at the free throw lilne, 4 from Stephen VanConant and 2 from Dalton Sempf. Deckerville had 3 points in overtime – all from Brady Sharbowski. Both Logan Martin and Hunter Garza were at the free throw line, but the shots didn’t materialize into points.
The Eagles hosted Dryden on Friday, taking the loss, 44-63.
Dryden outscored Deckerville, 15-6 in the first quarter and 14-12 in the second for a 29-18 half-time lead. In the first quarter, Derek Osborne, Hunter Garza and Brady Sharbowski each had 2 points. In the second quarter, Logan Martin had two 3-pointers, Derek Osborne and Hunter Garza, 3 at the free throw line. Dryden added 15 points in the third quarter and Deckerville, 13, with Kris Kosal scoring 5 (one 3-pointer), a 3-pointer from Logan Martin and 3 from Derek Osborne, and Connor Palmer and Hunter Garza 1 each. Dryden added 19 points in the fourth, Deckerville, 13. For the Eagles, Logan Martin with 5 (one 3-pointer), Brady Sharbowski 3, Derek Osborne and David Shanks, 2 apiece and Hunter Garza, 1.
