Sandusky fell 2 points short of qualifying for the state tournament at Wednesday’s regional at Liggett. All Sandusky players won at least one match on the day. Team totals and Sandusky results below.

First Singles: Jonathan Wentzel d. Beau Hund (Imlay City) 6-1, 6-1, in the opening round before falling to Sebastian Courtright (Liggett) 6-2, 6-1, in the quarter finals.
Second Singles: Annie Ross d. Kaeden Griebe (Richmond) 6-0, 6-0, in the opening round before falling to Gerry Sherer (Liggett) 6-0, 6-0, in the quarter finals.
Third Singles: #2 seed Jackson Kartanys beat Eli Williamson (Clawson) 6-1, 6-1, in the quarterfinals and defeated Jim Burns (Armada) 7-5, 6-2, in the semi-finals before losing to George Anusbigian (Liggett) 6-3, 6-1, in the finals. Kartanys is the 3S regional runner-up.
Fourth Singles: #3 seed Emma Minard d. Jack MacEwan (Marine City) 6-1, 6-1, in the quarter finals and fell to Jaret Hill (Armada) in the semis 6-1 6-0
First Doubles: #3 seed Caleb Minard/Carson Shampo d. Talan Pietrykowski/Micheal Gill (Richmond) 6-1, 6-0, in the quarter finals and lost to Colton Smith/Jack Davis (Armada) 6-3, 6-3, in the semis.
Second Doubles: #3 seed Gabe Drabant/Christian Shuart d. Dillon Cachola/Cody McCoy (Yale) 6-1, 6-4, and then fell to Ty Vanlerberghe/Jacob Meerschaert (Armada) 6-3, 6-0, in the semi-finals
Third Doubles: #3 seed Jake Papp/Carson Shuart beat Nathan Korchmar/William Adams (Marine City) 6-2, 6-1, before losing to Drew Blake/Jacob Dean (Armada) 6-0, 6-1
Fourth Doubles: #2 seed Isabella Stoutenburg/Logan Trepkowski d. Brayden McKinney/Luke Pape (Almont) 6-0, 6-2, in the quarter finals and Gavin Overland/Joshua Kriesch (Yale) 7-6 (7-4), 6-2, in the semis, before losing to Ryan King/Niko Cooksey (Liggett) 6-0, 6-0, in the finals. Stoutenburg/Trepkowski are the 4D regional runner-ups.
