Lucille M. Fleming

DECKER – Lucille M. Fleming, 90, of Decker, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Marlette Hospice Residence in Marlette, Michigan.
She born September 16, 1924 in Troy Township, Oakland County, daughter to the late Clarence and Mary (Roberts) McDaniel.
She graduated from Big Beaver High School in 1943 and attended M.S.U. While at high school she was a cheerleader, high school assistant librarian, played in softball and bowling leagues and sold the most War Bonds Stamps in the school to win the opportunity to bowl with Andy Verapepa.
She married H. James Fleming November 24, 1945 in Decker, Michigan.
Mrs. Fleming worked at National Drill in Rochester, Parachute Factory in Detroit, Snow Screw in Marlette, Marlette Community Hospital, Sanilac Medical Care Facility in Sandusky and Fleming Poultry Farm. She was a 4-H member/leader for 35 years, past president of Sanilac County Special Olympics, Life member Order of Eastern Stars Decker #438, Girl Scout Camp (Grandma Cookie), past Guardian Jobs Daughters Marlette Bethel # 56, volunteer at Bea McDonald School, Ladies Aux. #4837 VFW, a Cub Scout Leader, Sanilac Co. Shrinettes, Co-host of Quilt Show at Marlette 1st. Presbyterian Church, a Lamotte Fireman Aux. Charter member, volunteer at Living Desert, Palm Springs, CA., Social Activity Committee Sahara Park, CA., Guild member of Seattle Children’s Foundation-Palm Springs Guild, Chairman of Flag Ceremony at Sahra Park with Flag donated by Mary Bono of 44th district Congress in CA., Chairman of Flag Ceremony Lamotte Township with Flag donated by congresswoman Candice Miller.
She is survived by her husband, H. James Fleming; Judith and Terry Hudson (daughter) of Decker, Rev. Nancy and Curt Bitterling (daughter) of Port Austin, Mary and Roger Barnes (daughter) of Port Austin, Lois and Ernest Stukes (daughter) of Lacey, WA, Linda and Terry Warner (daughter) of Marlette; Daniel Fleming (son) of Decker; Inez and Eldine Dealanzo (exchange student) of Guatemala; grandchildren, Ann and Scott Stienbring, Alynn Hudson, Leena Palmer, Teresa and Don Denemy, Matt Bitterling, John Reynolds, Carrina and Tom Stanton, Toni Warner, Kelly Edwards, Karen and Bill Demaray, Leslie Fleming, Richard and Meghan Warner, Andrew and Ryann Warner, Marie Inez, Manuel and Sara Dealanzo and Natasha Stukes; and great-grandchildren, Caroline Denemy, Casey Hudson, Alexis Hudson, Meghan Hacker, Charlotte, Fleming, Oliver and Meredeth Demaray, Monica and Ruby Stanton, Eliana and Liam Edwards, Branwen Fleming, Caroline Grace Warner and Kaiah Tenbrige.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mary McDaniel; brother, Andrew McDaniel; and sister, Wilma Tincknell.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Pastor Chris Wolf officiating. Burial was at the Marlette Cemetery.
Memorials may be donated to United Hospice Service or Marlette First Presbyterian Church.
Visitation was held on Friday at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette.
Eastern Stars service was held Friday night at the funeral chapel.
