Marlette announces Senior Scholars

Marlette Schools have announced the Class of 2021 Senior Scholars.
Emma Albertson
Parents/Guardians: Daniel and Candy Albertson
College/Future Plans: Attend Grand Valley State University to become a pediatric nurse 
Academic Achievements/Extra Curricular/Community Service/ Honors/ Awards and Scholarships received from college:  Emma has served as vice president of National Honor Society, senior class president of student council, member of the Sanilac County Youth Advisory Council, Business Professionals of America (BPA), and Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). She participated in varsity track and cross country. She received her academic letter and pin, outstanding attendance award, and classroom awards in Honors English and Yearbook. Emma has volunteered at American Red Cross blood drives, Marlette Regional Hospital, junior high track meets, food drives, and various community events. She received the Grand Valley Award for Excellence Scholarship from Grand Valley State University where she will attend in Fall 2021.

Mackenzie Chateauvert

College/Future Plans: Attend Saginaw Valley State University, become an Obstetrician, then Prenatal Surgeon 
Academic Achievements/Extra Curricular/Community Service/ Honors/ Awards and Scholarships received from college: Mackenzie is a member of the National Honor Society. She earned her academic letter and received class awards for Geometry, Chemistry, and Algebra. She participated in the Health Occupations program at the Sanilac Career Center where she earned her CPR and First Aid licenses, and is working on getting her CNA license. She volunteered at blood drives and participated in clinicals at the Marlette Regional Hospital, Community Mental Health in Sandusky, and Autumnwood of Deckerville. Mackenzie will be attending Saginaw Valley State University where she was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship. She plans to major in pre-med and further her education to become an Obstetrician.

Josiah Hager


Parents/Guardians: Nathan and Rachel Hager
College/Future Plans: Attend the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado to pursue a bachelor’s degree in aeronautical engineering, then go onto flight school. 
Academic Achievements/Extra-Curricular/Community Service/ Honors/ Awards and Scholarships received from college:  Josiah Hager was involved in a number of groups at Marlette Jr/Sr High School including National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America (BPA), character club, captain of the math academic team, president of the student council, varsity football team captain, varsity baseball player, trapshooting team captain, and is a member of the student leadership team at his church. He has helped organize blood drives at Marlette and food drives at his church. Josiah earned academic classroom awards in Civics, Economics, and US History, and received his academic letter and pin. He has proven himself academically and will be graduating from high school having completed 36 college credits. 

Jordan Howard

Parents/Guardians: Kelly French and Rodney Howard
College/Future Plans:  Attend Central Michigan University Winter 2022 after completing Michigan Transfer Agreement requirements at Mid Michigan College
Academic Achievements/Extra Curricular/Community Service/ Honors/ Awards and Scholarships received from college:  Jordan Howard was a member of the Marlette High School jazz band and marching and concert bands where he served as drum major for the past two years. He earned his academic letter, plaque and pin and was a member of the English Academic team. He received class awards for Pre-Calculus, World History, Geometry, Biology, US History, English 10, Technology 2, and Entrepreneurship. He was selected to receive the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizenship Award. Jordan plans to complete courses for the Michigan Transfer Agreement this fall and then attend Central Michigan University Winter 2022 to major in Biochemistry. 

Olivia Storm

Olivia Storm
Parents/Guardians: Craig and Bridget Storm
College/Future Plans:  Attend St. Clair County Community College to pursue a degree in accounting and play soccer.
Academic Achievements/Extra Curricular/Community Service/ Honors/ Awards and Scholarships received from college: 
Olivia participated in Business Professionals of America (BPA) earning a first place in fundamental accounting. She has been a member of the cross country and soccer teams all four years of high school, serving as cross country team captain and co-captain of the soccer team her senior year. She was awarded most valuable in cross country her senior season. She received her academic letter, pin, plaque, and multiple classroom awards including Honors Chemistry and Honors English. She has assisted with vacation bible school at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Marlette every summer throughout high school and has worked at local elections at city hall. Her future plans include attending St. Clair County Community College to pursue a degree in accounting and play soccer.
